Finding the feet...

So, Oliver is working on finding his feet. Bryce put him under this mobile-play-thing today and it was so funny. I am sure he will have bruised heels.

He kept raising his fat little legs and slamming them down on the table to pin the mobile down.

I love his face here. He's like "yeah, I did it. I totally showed that mobile who is boss round these parts".

You heard it here first, folks....

We had a visit from one of our nurses today and Oliver was weighed.
He is 17.5 POUNDS of cute litte baby.
26 inches tall.
Perfect.

Check him out.

I have asked a few favors of Bryce in order to get thruough my work week. I miss my sweet boys so much---so Bryce must compensate a bit.

Rule #1: Bryce must come with Oliver to join me for a lunch date at work once a week.

Rule #2: Bryce must send me sweet pictures of my baby (like the above shots), AT LEAST once a week.

So far he has been keeping both of my rules.

The latest....

So, a little about what we've been up to.
Here's the boy. We've been working on our rolling-over-ability. He's not so ready yet. Every time we put him down to try---HE EATS HIS HANDS. Litterally. It is haliarious. I am so gald tha the does not have teeth, or there'd be nothing left.
The hand-eating is the only way that we know he is awake at night, by the way. Instead of waking up and crying like most babies in the world. He just wakes up and EATS HIS HANDS. Eventually the hand eating is loud enough that we hear him and we give him food.

Come on. He really is too cute. It's not fair.

I think that this is his 16-year-old face. We will get it all the time when he is that age and he is simply practicing now. This face says so much....

"Yeah, I'm listening (NOT)..."

"You guys are soooooo dumb...."

AND

"If you ever put that blanket over my head again and make me act like a ghost, I'm gonna call child protective services...."

(if you do not know what this means, see my post from October 24th, "Fun at Grandma's house in the mountains")

Miss Me????

So, perhaps you have noticed that my postings have slowed a bit. Well, I started back AT WORK!!!! Yep. And I turned THIRTY. Yep. I don't know which was more traumatic. :)
Seriously, I did start back work and turn 30 on the same bless-ed day: November 12. I had no problem with the turning 30 thing---but the work starting. ...that's a different story. It's just a bit stress-full adn a bit less enjoy-full. However, I am confident that the two will settle down and I will both stree less and enjoy more as I adjust.

I got back from my first day of work to find my baby fed and healthy and happier than ever. Bryce is a better "Mom" than I could ever be. In the past week Oliver has:
-had more tummy time than I ever gave him....
-practiced more eye coordination than I ever did with him (with the black and white shapes)...--
-listened to more classical music...
-went on more walks...
-etc. etc. etc.....
Oliver is a lucky little man. :) Check him out....

So---work will calm, baby will grow and we will be fine. It was just an event-full week.

I promise to be a better blogger in the future (when Oliver is 16....)

Seven Years Don't Itch...

So, today is our SEVEN YEAR wedding anniversary. Last night, Bryce snuck out of bed twice to feed sweet Oliver and did not let me wake up. He let me have a FULL night's rest. As if that were not enough.....I awoke to this note on our dry-erase board:

The 1 o'clock appointment was for a spa day arranged secretly by Bryce. I showed up for a facial, massage and pedicure.
When I got home, my sweet mother and father in-law took Oliver for the night while Bryce and I went to dinner at Sundance.

I just want to say, for the record, that I love this man. I have married a GOOD man. All of his sexiness, charm and grump aside----he has an amazing heart.
We spent our dinner together reminising about the past seven years and how we have changed. One of the things that I am most thankful for is that he is still my dearest friend. If I have a free afternoon---there is no one on this planet that I would rather share it with but Bryce. I truly ENJOY him. I am happier now than I have ever been (and I've said that every year).
Can you ask for anything more?

OId Family Photos...

Dad has always been a shutterbug. I am surprised that we are not all blind from the flash bulbs that have been in our eyes since birth. We always hated it. HOWEVER---now---we are so greatfull for these priceless pictures.
He just bought a scanner that will scan in slides (remember those???).
Here are SOME of the picutres we discovered.
Here I am at about the same age as Oliver. This just reaffirms my belief that Oliver is a mini-Bryce.

This is my Dad and Amy and me (I am the little lump)

You are seeing what you think you are seeing. This is my brother Arthur adding to the volume of the pond on our property. Priceless.
I love this picture of my Mom. She would've been about the same age as I am now in this picture. It is amazing how similar we look.

Here I am---a little older. You can feel that I have sucessfully found some attitude by now.

This is me and Amy.

Mom and me. Guess I was a thumbsucker.
