Misc...

So, a few things that we've been up to:
.
.
We had the opportunity to go to Mexico recently with kind of short notice. We had everything almost solidified when we realized that Bryce's passport had expired, mine had my maiden name and that Oliver ACTUALLY needed one. Hilarious. Since we missed out on this, we decided to go ahead and get our passports in order---so that we can flee the country at any time.
.
So, here is what looks like our three-year-old, Oliver (reminder: Oliver is 7 months old). I just laugh and laugh everytime I see this shot. He looks so old.

Oliver's new thing is that he FIGHTS off going to sleep. I suppose this is normal, but it is also very entertaining. He will crawl around sometimes with his head scraping the floor, barely able to move and then just DROP off to sleep in some pretty strange places/positions. Here is a recent location:

Here is just a cute post-bath-Oliver:

New hat...

So, with summer upon us (FINALLY) we decided to get Oliver a good wide-rimmed hat:
.
.
He is not used to the way it feels on his head, so he does this:

However, sometimes he does this:

Here is just a funny shot of Oliver in his high chiar. He looks so freaking huge:

Mommy is getting very angry...

Okay---this feakishly fast growing up is getting old. I want my baby to stay small a little while longer. Seriously. We've had a few too many milestones this week and Mommy cannot take anymore.
.
.
Milestone 1: He weighed in at 22.08 pounds. No big surprise. My back could've told you that.

Milestone #2: He's pulling up on things to standing ALL the time. And he's getting good at it. I have considered spanking his bottom everytime I've seen it in an effort to program him:
walking = bad

Look at this funny face:

Milestone #3: He's cut his third tooth (its on the bottom). You are gonna have to trust us on this one since NO CAMERA on the planet is able to capture him in the exact moments when it can be seen.

Now, Moms and Dads: tell me this gets easier. That it is just the first year, which is filled with so many milestones that seems to fly by so quickly. I am loving every minute of this, but I'm freakin out just a little bit.

Bathtime in the sink...

So, we've all been there. When we were kids...we were all given the sink-bath. Here is Oliver, enjoying his:

Too little...

Well, it is official. Oliver is crawling. I hate it. This has come too soon. He is growing too fast. He, on the other hand, LOVES it. He is everywhere.
.
.
Today Bryce took Oliver for a walk to our local park. He put him in the kiddy swing and this is what he looked like:

With all of the growing up he is doing, it is good to see him be too small for something.

Slow down, sweet Oliver. Mommy needs more time.

A few more events...

So, yesterday we went on a walk/picnic in the park. We took sushi from Wild Oats. Daniel LOVED it. That's one of the many beauties of Daniel: he'll eat anything. We had a great time watching all of the dogs. Oliver and me...

Today: sweet and wonderful Diane had a dinner for Daniel at her home. It was amazing, as always. The best part is the attention that Oliver's cousins give him. Check this out (this WAS NOT posed, I swear, it is how they really are):

Sweet Zoey and Sophie (aka: babysitters in the making....just a matter of time) they are so wonderful with Oliver. It is so obvious the love they have for each other.

And I am not sure who put this on Oliver's head. Either Jack or Ben....nevertheless...it was cute.

Hannah and Zoey:

Cute Jack (sans a few teeth)

Thank you, Diane for hosting a wonderful Dinner for Daniel and to everyone for coming (we missed you Ruby and Beckett!)

Daniel leaves tomorrow. I cannot even talk about it. It has been so amazing to have him here. We'll miss you, sweet brother. See you soon!

The shirt speaks....

Here is Oliver's favorite shirt....i swear...
and I am sure you all wanted a close up of the thighs......amazing.

Your new favorite word...

The conversation went something like this:

Bryce: What do you want to do today?

Daniel: Anywant.

Bryce: What? What did you say?

Daniel: (more slowly) An-ee-want

Bryce: Anywant? What is that?

Daniel: (even more slowly) Any-thing-you-want.

Bryce: Oh. Okay...

This is your new favorite "Danielism".
You may use this word in many forms. It may be used as "anything you want" or "anywhere you want".
I have used it a million times since Daniel introduced it.

Enjoy.

Laundry time...

Soooo....Daniel keeps doing "mysterious" things.
He will dissapear and we will find him in the midst of some project of some sort. Last night, the first sound that caught our attention was that of the hand held vacuum in our laundry room. I didn't think much of it, because what kind of trouble can possibly be caused from VACUUMING????
.
After that we heard cackles coming from the aformentioned area. WELL....that I do not trust.
.
We checked out the laundry room to find that he was DOING THE LAUNDRY!!!!

He was in the process of pulling out the laundry piece by piece and and folding it and/or hanging it. check out my shirts hanging in the back ground. He did all of that.

And here he is with the infamous vacuum.

Thank you, Daniel, for doing the laundry and earning your keep. :)

The boys at Red Butte....

So, yesterday morning, Bryce heard excessive laughter coming from Daniel's room and he found Daniel and Oliver and Le Petite Kitton on the bed. While she may "look" like she is about to strike, I assure you, she was not. She was just purring like a kitten and letting Oliver pull out her hair---well, Daniel was holding her down.
.
It was such a beautiful day (for Utah). Bryce packed up Daniel and Oliver and a picnic and went to the Red Butte Gardens. Daniel always insists on pushing Oliver's stroller. He is so careful with him.

Here they are beside one of Daniel's favorite statues.

And here is their lunch spot with the...um..geese? Or are they ducks. I have no idea. But they were funny.

Oliver and Bryce:

Sweet Uncle Daniel and Oliver:

They then went to the museum of Natural History at the University of Utah. What a day. Bryce has been filling Daniel and Oliver's days with such adventure. Well, sometimes that adventure is just watching Champion's league Soccer games...but they seem to all enjoy it.

Daniel leaves on March 11th. Very sad. I am sure we'll have a few more stories between now and then.

Daniel events...

We have thorougly been enjoying having Daniel here with us. He has been pretty amazing. Don't get me wrong---"Stobborn-Daniel" has reared his head a few times, but it was nothing we couldn't deal with.
.
Daniel and Oliver have had some priceless moments together. Daniel LOVES pushing Oliver in the stroller. He is so careful with him and goes so slowly over the slightest bump. It is so sweet.
.
So, everyday Daniel has to "work"---which means he researches semi-trucks on his laptop or writes about them in his notebook. Today his work was particularly impressive:
.

This is his drawing of a semi truck. Look at the white truck in the picture. He was copying every detail all the way down to the placement of the antenna.

Here is Bryce tickling Daniel---which he feels inspired to do about 30 times a day.
